SAN  FRANCISCO’S

WORKER HEALTH SECURITY ACT

· San Francisco has 38,000 workers who are uninsured.

· Supervisor Tom Ammiano’s legislation will insure tens of thousands of San Franciscans by requiring businesses with 20 or more employees to provide health benefits for their employees that work 80 hours or more per month.

· Businesses that do not provide health insurance have an unfair advantage over businesses that do provide health insurance.

· The Worker Health Security Act means that San Franciscans will no longer be subsidizing the health care of workers not covered by their employers.
