The Health Committee presents at our February meeting an overview of health care in the U.S. at the national level, the state level and the local level. Last year at this time we were deeply involved in preventing the privatization of Social Security—a fight which the aroused people won, at least for the moment. This year we hope to spearhead another such campaign—to restore Medicare to its original intent of providing medical care for seniors and disabled, and to expand it to provide adequate medical care for everyone—universal single payer health care for all.

We will discuss what an aroused citizenry can do about it. We invite your attendance, suggestions and participation. Tuesday, February 21, 2006, 12:30 to 3:00 PM at the Unitarian Universalist Church, Geary and Franklin.
