Civil Liberties Committee:
Human Rights Ammendment

On March 13, Rhoda and Barbara represented the Committee on a visit to Supervisor Mirkarimi’s office. Legislative Asst. Regina Dick-Endrizzi read the draft of our Human Rights Amendment with attention. She asked us about Maggie Kuhn’s interests—how she viewed human rights and her work to secure these in her time. Regina urged us to visit the other Supervisors with the Amendment, advising them of our interest in honoring Maggie with a resolution to support it at the State level.

Support from the Gray Panthers networks is crucial to a statewide campaign, so we took our proposed amendment to the Berkeley Gray Panthers meeting on March 22 where it was well received.
