Busy, Busy October
Special Gray Panther Activities

New GP Discussion Group on Mideast

SF Gray Panthers will begin a discussion group on Israel, Palestine, and the Middle East at noon, Tuesday, October 24, at the office. While we recognize that we have differences among ourselves, events in Lebanon made us realize that unless we in the Gray Panthers can discuss this in a forthright yet inclusive way, there is no hope for peace with justice over there. One member has had extensive contact with Israeli peace groups. Others will have different experiences to contribute. At the first meeting, we will decide what direction we want to take. Please come.

SAN Annual Convention

Senior Action Network (SAN) will hold its annual convention on October 12 at St. Mary’s Cathedral on Gough and Geary, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM. The theme will be statewide health care. We are an organizational member of SAN. As we do every year, we have reserved a table for 10 at lunch. We invite you to join us there wearing your Gray Panthers shirts, hats, and pins. ($10.00—or pay what you can.) Let the office know if you will eat with us—our own Sonia will be one of the union waitresses.

Do You Know the Way to San Jose?

CARA does. CARA (California Association of Retired Americans) will hold its third annual convention in San Jose on October 26-28. The theme—Keep the Care in Healthcare. We are a community organization member of CARA—Michael is one of the community representatives on their Board. You don’t have to be a delegate to attend and march for healthcare through the streets of San Jose. We will be driving down.
Let the office know if you want to come with us.
