CARA Convention

Michael Lyon represented us at the recent California Association of Retired Americans (CARA) Convention in San Diego. He’ll give a brief report at the November general meeting.

Oops! About California healthcare legislation:

In our October newsletter story on the meeting of the California Gray Panthers networks we reported, “The Gray Panthers, along with CARA, CNA, AND OWL, stand firm in support of SB 840 and opposition to AB 8.” Correction: CARA has taken no position on AB 8 (Nunez), preferring to concentrate its efforts in working for SB 840 (Kuehl, single-payer). OWL also supports SB 840, but we are uncertain about its position on AB 8. Our apologies.
