The San Francisco Police Comission will consider a proposal by Chief Scott to arm
SFPD with Tasers.
We have been fighting long and hard against tasers, and this is the fifth time they have been introduced, the first three being rejected after evidence demonstrated increased danger to the public.
-Tasers do not reduce police shootings & can increase fatal shootings
-Tasers do not replace deadly force and can actually kill
-Tasers are not cost effective and cost at least $10,000 per year per taser
-Tasers would hurt SFPD's efforts to implement time, distance and deescalation tactis instead of command and control
Come out and voice your concerns with the introduction of tasers and the many issues that accompany them!
