Civil Liberties Committee Report

Marshall Bentzman, Gray Panther Board member, was the speaker at the November 19 public meeting at the Page Street library sponsored by the Civil Liberties Committee. He spoke about the weaknesses and abuses of the prison system and criminal justice system in general, and described some of his activities to counter these abuses during his years as a practicing attorney. Some of the cases Marshall spoke about were high-profile legal battles of the 60s over racism and police brutality which we had been familiar with for years.
