The Middle-East Study Group meets monthly to educate ourselves on Israeli/Palestinian questions. Among the issues we are considering are: Is anti-Zionism the same as anti-Semitism? Is there anti-Semitism in the pro-Palestinian movement? What is terrorism in the region; is any of it justified; how should we look at it? Do we favor a one-state solution or a two-state solution; is either one of them possible? How do we counteract AIPAC as spokesmen for American Jews? Recommended reading: at least Tinderbox by Stephen Zunes. We also have a considerable list of other books on the subject. Our next meeting will be a brown-bag lunch at noon at the office on Tuesday, April 10.
SF Gray Panther review of Tinderbox written later.
