All Day
Tuesday, January 19th,  is a national call-in day to US Senators to tell them to reject the Conrad-Gregg amendment,  which  would create a fast-track Task Force to make deep cuts Medicare and Social Security in coming years.  On that day,  there's a toll-free line to Washington, 1-800-998-0180, to make these calls.  The Senate will be voting on this measure on the following day. Our calls to Dianne Feinstein are particularly important, as they'd be a chance to say we're also against her own plan for a different Commission to cut Social Security and Medicare, S-276.  Read more.

Call Feinstein! Tell her Hands Off Social Security and Medicare!   Say NO! to her bill S-276, that would create a Commission to massively cut Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid over coming years.   (Wash DC: 202-224-3841, SF: 415-393-0707) Read more about her Commission here.

Call Feinstein and Boxer: Tell them NO! on Senators Conrad (D-ND) and Gregg (R-NH), bill creating a Commission to both gut Social Security and Medicare and revamp the tax structure to make it even more regressive. Read more on the Conrad/Gregg plan for a Commission.

Send President Obama, Speaker Pelosi, and Senators Boxer and Feinstein a strong message: "We need just immigration reform now!"   The 13 Bay Area immigrant rights organizations that make up the San Francisco Immigrant Legal and Education Network (SFILEN) presented a unified platform on immigration reform that includes protecting immigrant workers, creating a path for undocumented immigrants to gain legal status, and making enforcement policies more humane.  Click here to download SFILEN’s platform.
